Ada cerita lucu nih..

Adelle lagi dibabysit omanya & iie alice-nya. Rupanya kepengen wafer pas liat omanya makan wafer, nunjuk2 sambil ngomong mamam mlulu. Akhirnya dikasih lah ama omanya 2 pcs. Pas oma & iie lengah, rupanya bungkusan wafer udah dikuasain adelle nih...dan udah sempet keluar bbrp pcs, dan adelle berlumuran coklat dan remah2. itemmmm banget mulut & tangan2nya.

Omanya lgsg bawa adelle buat cuci tangan & mulut sambil bisikin ke iie buat nyembunyiin sisa bungkusannya. Pas udah balik ke sofa, ga lama dia tiba2 teringat ama wafer tadi. Sibuk ngintip di blkg punggung/bokong oma & iie sambil ngomong "mana...? mana...?". hihihi...

Pas gue ngambil adelle, oma & iie blum sempet nyeritain tapi udah ngikik2 berdua.
"Im..liatlah anakmu ini...tadi dia ngapain... kikikikikkk.."

Gue cuman senyum2 sambil nanya, "Kenapa dia nihh..."

Adelle balikin badan ke arah gue sambil senyum manis dgn penuh makna, gaya ogre gitu deh. Trus dia ngomong "mamammmm.."

hahaha...our laughter broke :P we all couldn't believed she would actually CONFESS!!! :D

udah macem2 deh vocabnya adelle pokoknya. trll bawel malah hihi... Pronounciation (pengucapan) adelle itu bole dibilang quite good. banyak kata2 yang dia udah bisa ngomong, langsung diucapin dgn bener, ga pake cadel2an. contohnya : cicak, bunga, buah, dll. Mesti ati2 banget nih kalo ngomong2 skrg. dan kalo ini words yang adelle udah ngerti tapi belum bisa ngomong :

• dog (gayanya : uuhhhh uffhhhh doang kalo ada doggy/gambarnya)
  
• cup (pasti ngomongnya MINUMMM)
• sepatu (cuman ditunjuk aja sepatunya)

nah, kalo daddynya nyanyi lagu "I lov you..you love me, we're a happy family..", pas bagian "with a great big hug", daddy suka pause dikit biar ngasih waktu buat adelle ngasih hug ke dia, sama dgn bgn "and a kiss " di pause-in ama dia hihi...dapet deh "muaahhh" kiss dari adelle. Sebenernya adelle is a loving girl. Dari dulu ga berubah, suka ngasih mummy n daddynya hugs and kisses. kalo sama kita, kissesnya suka dateng tiba2 juga..jadi out of nowhere when she feels like kissing us, she'll come and "muaahh" us, alot of the times di bibir pula..alamakjannnn :D

Her favorite playtime is masak memasak. Gue beliin peralatan memasak gitu, yg isinya pan, piring, centongan, dll, kerjanya 3x sehari at least masak2an .. lucu dehhh dengan gaya kayak lagi goreng apaa gitu, trus pura2 nuang minuman ke gelas, trus di minum,, hihi... kalo udah, fake strawberry/egg-nya dikasih ke kita disuruh mamam katanya hehe..

Kerjanya bongkar2 barang, lemari, laundry basket, tong sampah, tong beras, dll, ga ilang2. untung kulkas ga gampang dibukanya, kalo gaa..wuihhhh itu kan isinya macem2.

Makannya ga segampang waktu baby. kalo dia beneran ga mau, ga akan dibuka mulutnya. tapi untungnya adelle bukan tipe yang ngemutin makanan..jadi kalo waktu wakan, set set sett..kelar deh. Ga ada gunanya dipaksa kalo udah ga mau. Dia udah pinter, diliatin dulu isi sendoknya apa, trus dibuka sdkttt aja mulutnya buat nyicipin. kalo ga doyan, dikorek isi mulutnya deh pake tangan.

Sukanya sih sekarang :

• wortel dan kentang yg suka ada di sup
• ikan, terutama ikan steam ala chinese
• pasta ga trll doyan, tp makan kok
• roti
• buah2 : pisang, anggur, jeruk, dll
  

adelle juga udah ngerti bbrp 2-part request, contohnya :

• give this to mummy/daddy
• ke kamar oma yukkk... (langsung ke pintu deh dia)
• mau nonton barney?
• popom yukk (mandi yuk)
• tolong ambilin itu dong delle...
• empeng adelle mana yaa..kok ilang

tadi malam critanya adelle pertama kali nih diajakin liat daddynya maen basket. kali ini maennya di SD Sutomo, karena yang ngundang tanding anak2 alumni Sutomonya. Biasanya sih kalo training lapangannya indoor dan hari minggu siang, jamnya suka clash sama jam tidur adelle dan mummynya mesti ke cafe, jadi ga pernah dibawa.

Dari jauh adelle udah mulai cheering, "daaddyy.... daddy..." hihi..

Biar agak aman, jauh dari serangan bola, kita duduknya di anak tangga yang agak jauh dari lapangannya. Lucunya, adelle kok seperti ngerti kalo daddynya lagi maen lho. Dianya ikut tegang, disuruh duduk ga mau. maunya berdiri aja, matanya ga lepas dari lapangan. Cheering yang sama mlulu... lucuuu banget, daddy2 mlulu. hihi... Setiap ada yg tepuk tangan, dia pun ikutan. Pas daddynya lagi di sub-off, dia br mau duduk, udah mulai loose interest. hihi...ngerti kali ya dia.

wah, i think this is the start of her interest in basketball...bisa sering2 dateng ke game2nya ahren dong kita nih hihi...

payah, kalo makan sekarang2 ini mau makan sendiri, kalo maminya maksa nyuapin, mesti pake tangan.

kampyung amatt anakku ini...

my poor parents

ceritanya, bokap gue diundang salah satu RS di penang hari jumat kemaren. jadi nyokap diajak, dan berangkatlah mereka jumat kemarin. sblm itu, pikir pny pikir, mrk akhirnya extend 1 mlm lagi di salah satu resort di Batu Ferringhi, mo relaks nih judulnya, sekalian dalam rangka Wedding Anniversary yg ke 32 kmrn itu.

Rencananya mereka balik minggu sore, ambil pesawat yg jam 17.40 dari penang-medan. Awalnya gue udah ga seneng, knp dikasih pesawat Lion, bkn MAS aja..katanya fully booked. ya sudahlah, yang mau terbang tenang2 aja, kok gue yang sewot.

ternyata, hari minggu pagi, ada kejadian di polonia erport. Pesawat Batavia mendarat darurat, ehh trus rodanya nancep di landasan dan gak bisa diundo. Terpaksalah airport ditutup sampe jam 5 sore. ga ada pesawat yg bisa fly in or fly out.

Terdamparlah bokap dan nyokap gue di erport penang dari jam 3 sore sampe jam..... 1/2 5 AM!!! Masarokaattttttttttt kasian banget kan?!

Puji Tuhan, mereka nyampe juga di medan jam 5 pagi di hari berikutnya. *phew*

Paranoid

Anak gue masih ampir 15 bln, tapi maminya udah parno sana sini. Payah nih, laki gue ga sepenuhnya ngedukung keparanoid-an gue.

1. kakinya adelle

yang sebelah kanan kok kayaknya agak 'masuk' gitu kalo dia jalan. keliatan jelas kalo adelle pake sepatu yg model sendal. pasti kaki kanannya miring2 gitu dibagian tumit. setelah gue suruh opanya liat, emang kata opanya kaki kanan adelle agak sedikit masuk ke dalam kalo jalan.haiyaaaahhh..... berarti gue mesti bawa adelle ke orthopedic donggg...
wajar kan?!
laki gue awal2nya bilang "She'll grow out of it..." bikin bete gue :P

2. giginya adelle

gigi apa tuh namanya yang di depan atas 2 biji, yang gede2? eniwei, adelle kyknya bakalan grow up dengan gigi yg bergap. this one, gue udah come to accept it setelah ngeliat2 foto jadul Lauren Hutton & foto2 Megan Ewing..ya sutralah mak, gapped teeth ini acceptable juga. can easily be fixed juga kalo adelle mau nantinya. kali ini waktu laki gue bilang "she'll grow out of it" gue iyah2 aja dehhh

3. cara adelle ngomong

duhh ini dieee, one of my worries. ntah liat dimana, sekarang kalo ngomong pasti bibir atasnya ditarik kedalam, bibir bawah dimajuin. kesannya dagu kuda bo! kan lama2 bisa jadi kebiasaan jelek, dan juga itu lho, teorinya Darwin, dagunya adelle lama2 berevolusi seperti cara dia ngomong. berarti gue mesti konsul ama speech therapist dong skrg? DOH!!!! *jedot2in jidat*

skrg udah susah kalo mau ngerapiin rambutnya, dia ga seneng aja ada yang megang2 kepala + rambut. langsung berkelit2 gitu kayak org lagi breakdancing ajah.

waduh, lama udah ga diapdet2 blognya. sedangkan adelle tambah jago ini itu aja. sekarang kerjanya kalo nangis 'pura2' gini nih... "ma mma ma...ma ma maaa... mii mi miiii...", sambil nyibir2. padahal air mata ga keluar.

trus, kalo mau sesuatu udah bisa ngasi tau. tapi ini baru sebatas minta biskuit ato minta diputerin elmo. caranya bungkus biskuit/box dvd elmonya dibawa ke kita, trus dikasih, dan kalo ditanya, adelle mau biskuit ya? dia ngangguk sedalem2nya sambil ngomong "maoo", kalo mo nonton elmo, dia ngangguk trus nunjuk TV trus kalo gue udah mulai jalan ke tv, dia cepet2 duduk di matrasnya dan diatas bantal (pokoknya spot ini emang spot tempat dia ngaso2 kalo lg nonton dvd) truss duduk dgn manis sambil bouncing2 excitedly sekali2 nungguin dvdnya mulai.

kapan hari adelle tiba2 ngilang, pas g mulai curiga g denger "kucukk..kucuukkk" ga lama dia muncul dr WC sambil megang plastic cup yang rupanya *jangan kaget ya teman2* baru nyiduk air toilet pake gelas ini. gue langsung panick attack dong...adelle lgsg dimandiin dan disabunin berulang2 hihi. untung toiletnya br discrub sehari sblmnya kalo ga g lebih terjijik2 kali.
malemnya malah lebih jijik lagi, g ganti baju, ehhh anak gue itu udah kecibang kecibung ama air toilet. kali ini langsung tangannya yg terjun. HUEKKKKK

pusing g kalo ingetnya. hehehe

udah bbrp mg ini makannya susah. bukannya completely mogok sih tp paling banter dapet 3 suap trus udah ga mau lagi. dan kalo ga mau, she makes it VERY clear dia ga mau. untung susu UHTnya tetep jalan. suka bener malah.

di mall kerjanya jalan2 mlulu, udah brani dia jalan sekitar2 cafe gue. apalagi tetangga sebrang jualan boneka, jadi deh display toko itu kaporitnya adelle kalo ikut ke sun plaza. kerjanya nangkring di kaca display sambil ngoceh2 nunjuk2.

We'd repeat the song on tellie and she'd love it so much and keep dancing and singing until she gets tired and takes a rest on the couch *chuckle*

* She's almost running. *long sigh* she also knows how to pull the string of my bedside lamp.

* She's fiddling with the lock of the staircase's gate. I betcha she'll soon know how to open it.

kebijakan yang sangat konyol!

hanya karena 1 film dokumentaris yang dibuat oleh 1 org, pemerintah kita mengambil kebijakan yang amat konyol menurut gue. Yaitu ngeblokir youtube dan lain lain. gimana negara kita ini mau pinter orang2nya kalo begini?! katanya negara demokrasi... HUH!

Boss yang baik itu begimana sih?

gue bingung, sebenernya kategori 'boss yang baik' itu yang bagaimana sih?

contoh nih ya, my friend, W, nah dia itu menurut legenda *cieh bahasanya bok* adalah boss yang baik asal jangan sampe marah. Kalo pak W marah, dia bener2 ngamuk. Denger2, kata2 pak W ke staffnya bisa sangat menyakitkan kuping. Istilahnya, kalo yg marah 'puas' lah memarahi staff tsb. Tapi pak W juga suka banget ngasih oleh2, makanan, dll sbgnya ke staff2nya.

nah kalo gue sebagai boss, gue gak bisa marah2 seperti pak W *walopun kadang pengen*. Paling banter cara gue marah ya, naikin tone suara + kata2 seperti "saya kecewa sama kalian..dstnya". Satu hal yang ga bisa gue sembunyikan adalah ekspresi wajah. Gak suka sedikit aja sama sesuatu hal, udah bisa keliatan di wajah gue. Akting gue nol besar deh pokoknya kalo ada ujian akting :P.

End result, staff pak W 'takut' ama pak W. Staff gue, 'takut' ama gue, tapi diam2 dibelakang tetap 'makanin' gue. I'm not sure kalo staff pak W does the same thing ato ga sih. Moga2 sih nggak yaa, for his sake.

Gue sebagai boss yang marahnya cuman segitu2 doang, juga suka ngasi kue2, kado + bonus2 here and there kalo gue anggap mrk ada prestasi. Sering. Laki gue juga mungkin krn latar blkgnya, suka ngasih pujian buat staff2 yang layak dapet pujian. Kata lainnya, menunjukkan apresiasi lah. Tapi ternyata it's all never enough.

Sekarang tetep aja ada mereka gak punya 'hati', apa sih anggapan mereka, gue ini ongkang2 kaki? Ga banyak masalah?!

Hati gue terus terang sedih. Sedih banget. I know life is cruel and I'd like to be a little naive and think there are lotsa nice people if you're nice to them, but reality speaks differently.

Mungkin gue harus bisa ngamuk2 spt pak W, kali? Mungkin gue ga usah nice2 ke mereka, krn toh in the end sama aja, percuma nice2.

Itulah kalo kerja with no sense of belonging. Tidak ada rasa memiliki.

Kelucuan baru

* Bisa menimang2 boneka2nya - lucu deh liat adelle lipat tangan, tangannya bulet2 dan masih pendek gitu :D Bonekanya kadang2 dikepit diketiak, bukan diatas tangannya. Trus diayun2. Kadang kepalanya di tepuk2.

* Kalo ditanya, suara bebek, dijawab "ducck quaakk quacckk quaackk" (kwakk nih, bukan kweekk hheeehehhe) - suara anjing "uuuhhfff uuhhfff" - suara ayam "uuukkkkkkkk" (sambil mukanya merah kayak org ngeden).

* Kalo ketemu sepatunya, suka mo dipake sendiri. Caranya ya, kakinya diangkat2 dan didempet2in ke sepatunya. Sama juga kalo ketemu bando, jepitan rambut, baju, celana, topi, kacamata & kalung. Lucu banget, kalo udah berhasil 'nangkring' di kepalanya, bisa dibayangkan 'berantakan'nya hihi.

I find some of these to be very useful :)

• For those who aren't as comfortable with pops of color during the day, looks are well played with neutral eyeshadow choices. Preferably matter or satin finishes. But night-time is always a fun time, so don't be scared to play with some color within your comfort level.
  
• The use of a brown liner on the waterline (such as Brown Border Technakohl) emphasizes your eyes in a much softer way than using black.
• Lining the lower lashline also emphasizes more defined eyes. Lining eyes halfway (from the outer to the middle) allows eyes to appear more open.
  
• The lip difference between day and night can be as simple as giving lips some shine with some lipgloss and/or going a shade deeper from the day pouters.
  
• Know where you're placing your eyeshadow on your brush. Do not grind the brush into the pot as too much product will be deposited into the bristles. Blending brushes like the MAC 224 only need color on the tips in order to create precise placement.
  
• Make sure your paint pots and fluidline jars are tightly shut and stored upside down to prevent drying. I also always make sure to turn my jars upside down when I use them to make sure they're not exposed to air for long periods of time. I'm scared of my gorgeous colors drying out on me!
  
• If you use a brow setter, brush the gel in the direction against the hairs first then along the direction of growth to coat both sides and maximize staying power.
• When applying eyeshadow/base on the eyelids, hold the brush bristles down and deposit eyeshadow/base near the lashline sweeping up and blending out.
• If you wear sleeve-less shirts, you may want to consider buffing cheeks with a bronzer so as to match your face to your shoulder.
• When lining eyes, use the side of the brush starting from the middle and working outward. Once the guideline is established, line the inner part connecting to the initial line started in the middle.

gue ga tau ini anak kenapa bbrp hr ini bener2 pantang ditinggal sendiri. contohnya nih, dia lagi maen2 ama buku dan bonekanya, trus gue yg tadinya duduk di meja jalan ke WC. Langsung mencibir2 dan ngejer gue. What's worse is, gue duduk di sebelahnya, babenya yg lagi duduk di meja trus mo ke WC eeehhh dianya jg protes mencibir2 dan lgsg mulai ngejar. Kalo udah gini kan yg nemenin jadi bete kan?! Biasanya gue lgsg manggil "ADELLE! kamu mau kemana, sini maen lagi jangan kejer daddy". Adelle sih udah ngerti kalo dipanggilin begini, lgsg jalannya stop, kpalanya muter liatin gue, trus liatin ke arah WC, trus kalo dipanggil lagi baru badannya muter jalan balik arah lagi ke gue.

akhirnya kemaren malem gue beneran naik darahnya. mungkin memang lagi sensitif aja, mana masalah staff di toko kok rasanya ga abis2nya, ehhh pulang ke rumah adelle begini. Padahal dia udah tidur, tapi trus bangun nyari2. Udah itu susah mo langsung tidur lagi. Yang pusingnya, kalo gue beranjak dari sebelahnya buat ganti baju doang, dia langsung nangis kayak abis digebuk. Gue mo sikat gigi, dia huk huk huk. Langsung ngejer, pas di kamar mandi, yang ada *ampir* megang toilet bowl. Jorse. Untung laki gue dateng.

Nah, udah itu gue nemenin adelle. Padahal dia itu maen sendiri ama buku2nya. bukannya gue mesti maen ama dia, tapi gue MESTI ada di sebelahnya. Ntar sekali2 gue dipanjat2in, trus dia maen lagi sendiri. akhirnya gue ngambil kutex. Ehhhh dikejer2 ama dia (botolnya kali ya, biasa kan pengen tau banget). Gue kepit di antara paha, dan kakinya gue tekuk, critanya biar ga kliatan. Dia maen2 bentar, ehh ga taunya masih penasaran ama apa yang gue lakukan di balik paha...tiba2 banget dia muter, dan tumpahlah botol kutex gue itu. Huaaaa langsung gue kesel
banget kan (sbnrnya salah gue, ngapain coba molish2 di tempat tidur dan di sebelah adelle).

Gue ya ngomel.

Gue bilang,

"Mami udah bilang sama adelle, jangan ganggu barang mami. Liat nih kan tumpah kemana2. (trus dia nangis krn gue kan jalan buat ngambil tissue) Kenapa sih dikit2 nangis, kesel mami dengernya. (ehh pas g deket, nangisnya diem, apa ga tambah sebel?!) Dimana sih blajar nangis pura2?!!! Kamu buat marah mami aja."

Gue cuci tangan ke kmr mandi. Dia nangisnya tambah kenceng, sambil jalan ngejer gue. Gue jalan balik ke matrasnya dia. Duduk disana, nungguin adelle yg jalan sambil nangis2 ke gue. Eh udah itu krn gue duduk aja di matrasnya, dia *kembali* ke aktifitas bermain spt biasa. Udah ga nangis lagi. Gue kasih susu. Trus gue rebahan aja, matiin lampu, maksudnya spy si eneng bobo. so, she's now walking everywhere....like a penguin. It's too cute to resist. But there's so many more problems now that she is walking by herself. She's become Adelle the Explorer. She'd push anything pushable - amongst favourite things are chairs. She's never really enjoyed pushing her walkers, but since she walked she'd push them .... sideways *laughs*
she's quite good in turning directions and judging her steps over a little step.

she's gotten taller too (i'm not sure by how much) but she just seems to be reaching at everything on my desk., then walks away with the stolen goods and stops to check it making sure her back is facing me hihii...

she knows when she grabs something that she's not supposed to. She'd point it at us, uhhh-ing it, and if we raise our eyebrows, she'd turn around squealing and either walk away or crawl off in such high speed.

she's quite musical too it seems. she loves the piano, and since she knows how to blow her toet-toet in the party, she's been blowing her recorder too.

she claps her hands with 'style'.

she has 8 teeth now.

she says "daddy" with english accent (it's darn cute!)

she's a very loving girl. she'd kiss all of her soft toys when she wakes up. she'd kiss me a few times too. she'd kiss her oma, opa too, but not so much to daddy nowadays.

Berastagi Trip

We decided that we had not much choice of days left to take the MIL to a nice retreat out of town so there we went last Thursday. Only 4 of us, me, ahren, MIL and adelle.

ohh boy, she really is trying to perfect her walking. the changes that happen in the 2 days we were out of town are just amazing.


she stood still on the concrete, but loved walking on the grass - kissing the mirror (yuck!)

The birthday party went well. We had about 8 tables of 10s set up and they were all full. I made about 30 goodybags plus 28 cupcakes and they were all given away.


3 generations - grandma, mummy and oma - with mummy "priceless look, says tante utie"



with presents but the balloons were the highlights - crash course in "How to blow your toet-toet" by Oma went really well

my baby is soooo genit

yeap! we were at church and there was this 4 or 5 yo boy sitting in front of us. he kept looking towards adelle, smile, wave, you name it. and adelle is just as 'genit', she reached her hands out to him and held his fingers for quite sometime.

The cold is going around

I made the right decision to postpone Adelle's party that was supposed to be on this Sunday to next Sunday.

2 days ago she started sneezing and having runny nose. I figured she must have got her flu from my sister, who's still recovering since last week. As long as she drinks lotsa water to keep her body hydrated so she won't have fever, I'm cool about it. But then she started having this weird sound coming out of her. We all worried she might be coming down with laryngitis so I decided to take her to see the ped yesterday evening. Luckily she was diagnosed with a little cold and a little allergies. Thank God no laryngitis or any sort of throat inflammation. I just like to catch it early rather than leaving it too late.

But....a scary thing *at least for me* happenned last night around 10pm. I went out to the store and daddy fed her milk again after I gave her some 2 hours before. Bad Adelle drank it all, but i got home, she fussed trying to sit on me. As soon as she did, she vomitted EVERYTHING - litterally her dinner, 2 milk. OMD :( I screamed a little bit *whoops*.

The 2 grandmas got REALLY busy cleaning us & the floor up. it was a hell lot of vomit. I had to shower and bath adelle after that. She's ok after that *phew*

HOW?!

Having made that cake and cupcakes for Adelle's birthday, the inner me is now longing to pursue more! I so wish there's good cake decorating class around here. But, WHEN? HOW? WHERE?!

adelle's new habits

kisses & hugs

ahh before she used to give kisses and hugs when she wanted to, if we forced her, she'd stiffen her body and look away. but these past 4 weeks, she's been giving it when we ask her to! soo sweet... i never want these moments to pass :P
she'd sit in front of this big mirror downstairs and kiss herself in the mirror hehhe...
she'd kiss almost all of her soft toys, babies in magazines/books.

food & milk

portion wise, it hasn't really increased. *sigh* but texture wise, she's on rougher meals. I also started giving her rice porridge yesterday. At first she spitted everything back out and stuck her fingers in her mouth to play with the food. But after several attempts, she finished it all. The key was not to give it in a big portion. I still blend some hard vegies (such as carrots), but vegies/fruits that are quite soft, such as pumpkin, steamed apple/pear, bananas, i crushed it with fork since adelle turned 10 or 11 months.

i've also been giving her plain UHT milk. the key here is to give it in her bottle. if she drinks it from the straw, she'll just spit everything back out. i intend to not give UHT milk with flavour as i assume it'd be just as sweet as the formula. i still give Adelle Procal Gold since we still have a huge box full of them!!

she's been drinking pure juice and pure fruit milkshake too using a glass and straw. she luurrveeees it!

i still haven't introduced fish, but it should be soon :) i'm thinking 'bawal' fish and salmon as starter.

i cook her meat with onion, tomatoes and oregano now to give it more flavour.


activities

she's started walking a few days before her first birthday and has been trying ever since. it's damn cute!

she likes sitting on the floor playing with my brushes when i get ready in front of the mirror.

she loves pushing her folded stroller and her walkers around the house and never seemed to get tired from it. *sigh* my back is killing me!!

she loves music so much i'm not kidding.

she now also points at things she wants or when calling someone over.

she can do these when we ask her to :
* kepala pusing (she'd put her hand(s) on the forehead)
* opa's mouth (pouty lips)
* show us where beo is and where the fish are; where specific people are
* tell us if she wants something or not by either nodding or shaking her head or saying yes
* waves bye
* show us where adelle is, she'd pat her chest.
* show us where nose and mouth are

she can do fake cries too sometimes *tepok jidat*

we decided to gather some of the closest family members at home just to celebrate Adelle's first birthday as it did fall on monday. i spent the whole day baking a chocolate cake and about 30 pieces banana cupcake as souvenir. all with the help of my lovely mother in law. she made the green koala fondant (we meant it to be a bear - just like adelle's favourite bear, but it looked like a koala in the end :D)


i was exhausted, but very very happy as people loved my cakes! yaayyy *now i can officially take orders hehhehe*

the part that makes me the happiest is that i managed to bake Adelle her very first birthday cake myself - with all its imperfections. it means the world to me.

once again, happy 1st birthday my dear girl, you have made me a very proud mother and i hope you'll grow to be the best you can be. may God always be with you every step of the way. i love you more than words can say. *muahhhh*

1 year has passed

adelle on her 1st birthday, around 8am.

"mummm i just woke up...phototime already?!"

after a face full of smiles, i gave her lotsa kisses and wished her happy birthday. i said to her, " happy birthday dear adelle...you're not a baby anymore yea?!" and she answered me "YEAAAAAA".

T-2

Yay..it's T-2 before BALI!

It's just going to be me, Adelle, Ahren and Uncle Didi (mum's bestest friend)!! we're looking forward to a holiday after the most hectic months in our lives!

I am not looking forward to the packing part. So far, only Adelle's clothes have gone into the suitcase - which all are scattered around the floor now thanks to the little miss Adelle creative hands *growls*

She now :

* drinks from the straw (apparently she's is a natural, we never taught her and she just did it, so now she drinks her water using straw and glass, unless she asks for water in the wee hours)
* has 3 naps instead of 2, we guess that she needs the extra nap as she's exhausted from running around the house
* calls her dad "bub" - just like how her mummy calls daddy
* recognizes camera, so if she's in the mood, she'll do different pose at every click
* is so teasable - (is there such word heheh) - if we 'pretend' we are going to come and tickle her, she'll scream, laugh and dash off.
* says "duuwaa" (means 2), "iyaaa" (means yes)
* points at things she wants *gulp*
* cruises by everything using only 1 hand

* she says "apa inii..?" when pointing at something (read : what's this?)
* when she lets go off her wind, she'd say "apaa ituu?" sometimes.
* sometimes she calls ahren what i call him!!! which is : BUBBB *LOL*
* she calls the housemaid Las "Iyaaas"
* she says yes as "YEssshhhhhhh"
* when she wants me to pay attention to her, she'll yell "mmmuummmm" to my ear.
* there'd be times when she'd cry her eyes out and when we ask her "is milk what you want"? and if yes, she'd say "yeaaa yaaaaaa".
* she can point to "where" the fish are and "where" the birds are kept.
* she loves getting excited when teased, she'd either kick her legs soooo much or she'd turn around and crawl off!
* she lovesss music, thank God! Both hearing/watching and playing musical instruments.
* she knows 'how to use' the AC Remote, TV Remote and the telephone properly. I said properly means the AC Remote - she'd point the remote upwards, the TV Remote - she'd just hold it straight, and the telephone - she'd put the handle on her shoulder and lean her head sideways and start talking like ME (for those who know HOW i talk on the phone will know how Adelle does it too i guess :D )

anyways, the walker that we purchased for her is not being used as a walker by her. she uses chairs as walkers! so she goes around the house pushing chair. everyone says that it looks like she walks and talks at the same time anytime soon. this girl is soooo active. her dad says her 'terrible 2' may have started much earlier. i say she is such a free spirit, always knows what she wants since such a young age. she is a HANDFUL - even her oma (grandma) says she's running out of breath looking after her. *grin*

scary. how come she's growing so soon?!

* she can 'peluk sayang' (=hug) me (on my shoulder, chest and tummy), dad, oma, opa, iie alice, her bears, oma's and daddy's mobile phones, house phone, tv remotes, and her milk bottles - all with the mumbling sound " aahhh.....".

* she never crawled using her tummy. from not crawling at all, she jumped to crawling with 1 foot on the ground (halfway to a standing position) and 1 leg dragged along (it's so funny, we name it NGESOT instead of CRAWLING). Someday, we really need to video it before she walks.
She does crawl like normal too, but she probably thinks that ngesot-ing gets her around faster than crawling.

* if she grabs something that she's not supposed to, she'd turn around and point the item to us as if she was asking for a permission - that she knows she'll never get anyway. We'll wriggle our index finger and say no, she'll cheekily laugh and start to 'ngesot' away as fast as she possibly can, stop and glance to see where we are, and ngesot away again.

* she can answer our questions when she really wants to do the thing we ask her by saying " IYAAAAAH".

* she sings to herself in the mornings! i'm dead serious, she sings. with a smile too, if i must add. usually she does that after her 7am milk, just as she goes back to sleep.

* she hugs me. only me. her daddy says she has never hugged him that way.

* she can point to her nose when asked.

* she can pout when we ask show us opa's mouth (fyi, opa has pouty lips heheh)

* she dances up and down and claps her hands whenever she hears music.

* she does fake cries when we take something away from her. (grrrowl)

* she's very very active.

* she loves practicing how to stand up without any support. she'll let go off holding onto anything that helps her up, starts balancing herself with such a happy glowy face (like she's accomplished something so BIG)

* she doesn't like TV anymore. we'd turn it on just to get the sounds playing in the background. adelle will glance for a few seconds to the tellie once a while, but then will continue to move around (and mess everything!!).

* she'd wriggle her index finger and would start to babytalk (the way we tell the dogs off) whenever we take her to see the dogs barking.

* she can play ball with us back and forth - eventhough when she throws the ball towards us, it tends to bounce on the spot *lol*

* she does "mata genit" (=flirty eyes)

* she shakes her head when she really doesn't want something we're making her do

dede felicia

today adelle and I went to visit my old friend who's in town just for a few days with her baby daughter, felicia. Felicia is such a pretty baby, and is 8 mos old. She's got round almond eyes with pure black irises. They were gorgeous - it looks like she wears contact lenses i said to her mum. And she has "Polem" (poni lempar) at such young age! It was so fun to see the 2 babies interact. They kept taking each other's toy.


We had heaps of fun catching up and couldn't believe it that now we met up with each one of us carrying a baby *lol*


Adelle's such a spongey sponge. She saw me carry Felicia - and we got home, for once after so long, she wanted to be carried to sleep the way i carried Felicia! Felicia has been spraying saliva and adelle started doing it tonight too. Let's cross fingers that Adelle won't be shaking her head more now that she's seen Felicia did it all afternoon *pray*

New dance

Ever since I could remember, she's been dancing and dancing whenever there's music playing. Lately, the dancing changes. And these past 2 days she found out how to shake her head, and incorporated it to her dance moves.

With the dance, she's learnt how to say " yeaaa.." when we ask her something. She knows how to say "beaaa..." (for bear) and then gives bear a big sandwich hug.

finally!!

She can finally do the one thing that i've been teaching her for sooo many months!!

What is it?

She can now 'sayang' us when we ask her to!!! She does it by laying her head down on our shoulder or chest and would mumble "..aaahhhhhhhh". What's funny too is there are times when she doesn't feel like doing it when we ask her to, so we'll show it to her by putting bear on our shoulder instead, she'll watch us and 2 seconds later grab bear from us and put it on her shoulder and sandwich it with her head!!! hillaarious!

Apart from that hugeeee development, adelle now likes to :

- go in and out of the bottom of chairs and tables. *sigh* she loves to 'peek' too.
- yesterday she sounded like she was saying "..aappell" with silent L.
- when we ask, where's opa's fish tank? she'll point to the right direction.
- when she was in the stroller during the trip to singapore all day long, she would sleep in it, play in it. so easy. once a while we'd take her out for a 5 minute cuddle.
- bite on things with lotsa power! (geremmm gitu mukanya sampe goyang2 mukanya)
- if she has a chance to crawl downstairs, she'd go to the kitchen and look for eggs! luckily no eggs have been sacrificed in the process so far.
- when the phone rings, she'll put her hand on her ear and says "..llooo". when her grandma rings up, she'll go " yaaa... looooo".
- when we catch her doing something she isnt allowed, she'll be the one putting her finger up and say nooo nooo to us before we have the chance to! :D

obssession

10 months 10 days old - officially a COPYCAT

things that adelle copies everytime :

* when we put our hands on the chest to act surprise, she'll do the same
* when we pout, she'll pout back (she loos hilarious when she does this)
* when we hug and pat adelle's bear, she'll grab the bear and put it right next to her cheek and pat
* when we say point our index finger and say no to her, she'll point her index finger back at us
* when we play peekaboo with a blanket, she'll grab the blanket and peekaboo too
* when we clap, she'll clap
* when we laugh outloud, she'll do an even louder laugh-scream kind

She understands us not allowing her to go to the bathroom - when we say... don't go in there adelle... just play in here, she'll stop crawling, turn around and look at us, and crawl back out. But sometimes we have to call her a couple more times before she changes direction completely.

She likes to go up the stairs now by crawling. We just watch her very closely behind her all the way up. and when she gets up to the 2nd floor, she'll stop and clap to herself hahehehe..

She loves to practice how to stay standing up for a long time. Sometimes she'll get up around 5am just to practice for 20 minutes or so. The longest she can hold herself in standing position is 45 seconds on the bed (yeaa..we timed it hehehe). But when she stands up on the floor we haven't had a chance to time her, it should be much much longer.

She always calls for "Mamma" when she's tired, hungry, wet, bored, wants a cuddle, and just woken up. She'd say "mamam" when she wants her meal. She calls oma "emahh" and opa "epaah". She'd say "Papa" from time to time but not so often.

She laughs and giggles when iie Alice says "adellee...bolobolo..". Never when everyone else says the same thing though.

Another thing that we love watching is when she listens to her singing book, she'll 'dance' by rocking her body up and down.

overall, adelle is such a happy go lucky baby (not that i know what other babies are like), very easy to care for and we can't believe that she's turning 1 in 50 days!

january 2008

happy new year everyone!

just a quick update on adelle :

- her 4th and 5th tooth have made an appearance
- she climbed up the stairs today for the very first time - ALL 17 steps and all by herself. it's amazing this little girl has that much energy to do that.
